The Power of Integrative Psychiatry in Treating Children and Teens

Integrative Psychiatry

Hello and welcome. I’m Dr. Levy, and I’m honored to be part of your journey toward supporting your child’s mental and emotional well-being.

My practice is built on a foundation of compassion, innovation, and evidence-based care. I merge medical expertise with therapeutic support to deliver a truly integrated approach for children and adolescents. My goal is not just to treat symptoms, but to understand each young person in context — their struggles, their strengths, and their unique story.

  • This comprehensive model may include psychotherapy, neuroscience-based interventions.
  • When appropriate, medication.
  • I collaborate closely with families to create a treatment plan that feels both effective and comfortable.

Educational Background and Clinical Training

I earned my medical degree from UC Irvine School of Medicine, followed by a combined residency in Family Medicine through UC Davis and a rural health program. I then completed a Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (CAP) fellowship through a collaborative effort between UC Davis and UC Irvine — a program that offered the best of both institutions’ expertise in mental health care.

1. I’m board-certified in Family Medicine and fellowship-trained in Psychiatry.
2. This dual foundation gives me a rare and valuable perspective.
3. I see the full picture of health — physical, mental, emotional, and developmental.

Growing up with ADHD and depression, I personally understand the struggles many of my patients face.

Why I Do This Work

Growing up with ADHD and depression, I personally understand the struggles many of my patients face. My journey wasn’t easy, but it taught me resilience and gave me deep empathy for others navigating similar paths. Today, I bring those insights into every patient interaction, helping young people not just cope — but thrive.

One of my favorite childhood memories is a Halloween spent with my younger brother. We went out together, dressed up and determined to collect an epic haul of candy. That night still reminds me of the importance of sibling bonds, childhood joy, and having someone in your corner — values that I bring into my work every day.
